anyway the guys posts never seem to make long threads.
Many, many helpful ones on the forum, and my family and I appreciate finding this great resource.
There are some writers I always stop to read: Clarity, Exwhyzee, Mr. Flipper, Punk of Nice, Billy the X Bethelite, Laverite, LoisLane Looking For Superman, Snare&Racket, Terry, Data-Dog, Minimus, which are only a few of the heroes to be found here.

Those tracts and mem invites pinned on the post office bulletin board go directly into the trash - I check the board every day when I check the mailbox.

I'm reminded of the "comfort" email that a sister wrote to me when I was complaining about how we had been treated by elders, and how i could not imagine inviting anyone to this organization ever again. "When I go in field service I'm happy, and when I study my WT I'm happy."
Well as long as YOU are happy, that's all that matters, right? Don't worry about children being abused with the org's full knowledge - just keep reading your WT and enjoying meals paid for by cash-strapped cult victims after your husband gets up and delivers his condescending orations.

TELL IT, TERRY!!! i appreciate you writing how i feel. It really helps a lot. I've been traveling for so long trying to find my way out of the soft gauzy fog of appeasers and mild-mannered sweet accept counsel sheeple in denial.

There were several brothers we knew who were huge drunks. We knew of one couple, the husband was an elder wellthoughtof, and his wife kept telling the elders that he was blind drunk every night and abusing her verbally. They kept telling her not to talk about her husband that way. Finally she moved out and separated from him. She was disfellowshipped quicker than you can swat a skeeter. Because she spoke disparagingly about an elder!
Amazingly she went through all the crap you have to go through to get reinstated and jumped right back in, even though by that time her drunken booby of a husband had divorced her and found another dumb woman to victimize.
(Me to self: Tell me again WHY you stayed in that cowpie of an organization 30 years?!)

just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
The KH i attended had several congregations and one was Spanish-speaking. Shortly before getting the hell out of there forever, i heard from an elder's wife that there was a lot of arguing in elders' meetings about people in the Spanish congregation in severe need. The Spanish-speaking elders wanted to know why they could not withdraw some funds from the money that was being saved for building a new KH, and help the friends who were desperate. At the time there was close to a million in the account, sitting there helping nobody. Of course those elders knew better than to think they could withdraw money from an account like that.
This is all hearsay. But made me think at the time, WHY am i supporting an outfit who only wants to build to attract new people, and won't help the people they've already got, who contributed the money in the first place.

i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.
i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.
first offence but the pigs police and the cps have got charges made.

Dear Jon, what's really good is that you won't need to go any farther than your bathroom mirror to see where your disastrous situations first began...print out this thread and file it away, then read it over in about 18 months.
